Southport Voted 10th in ‘Happiest Place to Live’ Survey

What does it take to be voted one of the happiest places to live in the UK?

Voted by the public in a national survey, Southport has been named as the only Merseyside town in the top 10 of Rightmove’s ‘Happiest Places to Live’ survey.

With house prices for a 2-bedroom property averaging £209,360 to buy and £609 a month to rent, makes living in the picturesque and historical town an attractive location to live.

Those who participated in the survey expressed their views, stating community spirit, feeling safe, along with finding the locals friendly and polite and feeling that they can earn enough to live comfortably in the seaside town.

Elaine Shaw, Property Manager of Estate Agents ‘Penny Joseph’ based in Southport is thrilled with the results of the survey.

“Southport is a beautiful town that has much to offer. Along with fantastic beaches and nature reserves, Southport is host to some of the best theatres, restaurants, stores, bars and hotels in Merseyside. Over the past 12-month’s, we have seen a surge in interest from investors from the South-East who are attracted to the town, and all we have to offer here,” said Elaine. “As a resident of Southport myself, I couldn’t feel any prouder of this town.”

Southport’s ‘Lord Street’ is famous for inspiring the tree lined boulevards of Paris, after Napoleon lodged there, thus taking the layout and organising the reconstruction of the French capital mirroring the arcades and covered walkways.
